As I write this, I’ve just finished watching the Oscars, where the final award of the evening (Best Picture) was given to Slumdog Millionaire. I have to admit, I have not seen this film yet, though all of my friends and coworkers have absolutely raved about it. However, even though I have not seen it, there has been no escaping the buzz for the movie and its actors, including the very talented leading actress, Freida Pinto. In fact, Ms. Pinto’s style in the movie has helped inspire quite the “East-meets-West” trend, incorporating embroidered tunics and colorful scarves. Well, if that sort of look interests you, I am happy to say that Soft Surroundings certainly has you covered. I had the opportunity to work recently with the Fashion Editors of Glamour magazine to help recreate Ms. Pinto’s look from the movie with Soft Surroundings’ items, with the featured item being our Sandwashed Tunic, and the resulting ensemble was featured on a great pre-Oscar segment on Good Morning America!
